Golf Tournament

Monday, May 6, 2013 - Tee Time 12:30 pm
$180.00/person

The golf tournament at the Port Royal Golf Club on Monday afternoon will follow an open-play, four-person scramble format. Tee time is 12:30 p.m. The registration fee of $180.00 includes golf, cart, box lunch, practice balls, tax & gratuity. Please include the fee and handicap for you and/or your spouse on your Registration Form.

Located on property, the golf course is walking distance from the resort or you may take the hotel's shuttle bus over to the course.

Planter’s Row was designed by Willard Byrd and built in 1984, becoming the Plantation’s newest course.  It has played host to the Hilton Head Seniors International Golf Tournament, a former senior PGA Tournament Event. This course offers a different look from its sister courses with water on 10 of the 18 holes.  The narrow, tree-lined fairways lead up to the course's large undulating greens.  Planter’s Row is a great challenge for all skill level of golfers.

Transportation:
The Port Royal Golf Club is located within walking distance from the resort or you may take the hotel's shuttle bus to the golf club located at the hotel's front entrance.The shuttle bus will leave at 11:20 a.m. and make continuous runs to the golf course.

Dress Code:
All participates must adhere to the dress code policy.  Appropriate golf attire is required.  Collared shirts and shorts that are slightly above the knees are acceptable.  Denim, t-shirts, tank tops, bathing suits and short shorts are not allowed.  Metal spikes are not allowed at the facility.

Golf Clinic and 9 Holes of Golf

The Golf Clinic will feature a buffet lunch in the clubhouse followed by golf lessons with a PGA Golf Professional from 1:00 pm -2:45 pm and then 9-holes of golf. The Golf Clinic will follow an open-play, four-person scramble format. Tee time is 3:00 pm. The golf professional will walk the range and assist the participants for the first few holes by giving out tips and recommendations to improve your golf game. The scramble format allows someone who's not necessarily a good golfer to compete and still get a great score. The rules for playing golf, scramble format are simple. Each person on the team tees off from the same spot. Then the team then chooses the best shot made, and everyone moves their ball to that spot, and plays from there. This continues until the ball is in the hole.

Registration fee of $120.00 includes golf lessons, 9-holes of golf, cart, buffet lunch, practice balls, tax & gratuity. Please include the fee and your handicap on your Registration Form.

rentalsLet BSA handle your golf club rentals!

Please indicate on your registration form if you would like golf club rentals for the tournament. Let us know your preference for right-hand or left-hand, men's or ladies, and we'll handle the rest. Golf club rental requests must be submitted on or before April 4th. Club rental fees are $25.00 for the golf clinic and $45.00 for the golf tournament. Golf club shoe rental is not available but you may wear sneakers on the course.

tennisTennis Clinic and Round Robin, All Levels Welcome

The men’s and women’s Round Robin Tennis will be held Sunday afternoon on the hotel courts.The tennis clinic and the round robin will feature a buffet lunch in the clubhouse from 12:00pm-1:00pm, followed by tennis lessons from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm and a round robin tournament from 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm. Registration fee is $104.00 and includes buffet lunch, tennis clinic, court time rental rackets and refreshments. Please include your fee and indicate your level of play on the Registration Form.

Fishing Tournament *SOLD OUT*

Fishing Chairperson: Bill Shepard, BDI

Come and fish the beautiful waters of the South Carolina low country. Our legendary salt marsh is the largest breeding ground of game fish in North America. The guides have been leading in-shore and off-shore fishing charters for years. Whether a beginner or seasoned angler, your guide will share our deep knowledge and experience. Each charter captain is dedicated to providing a safe, productive, and memorable day. The boats we have are 26’ power cats and V hull fishing boats. Seasonally targeted species include Red Drum, Sea Bass, King and Spanish Mackerel, Tarpon, Cobia, Shark and Lady Fish.
Includes: Charter includes boat and USCG licensed captain, bait, tackle, licensing, fuel and drinks. A cooler with ice on board for anything you'd like to bring to eat.

A shuttle bus will take you to the Marina. Please meet the BSA staff at the hotel's front entrance at 12:15 pm. One boat will take you up to 5 miles for off-shore fishing and the other boat will travel through the salt marsh and stay in-shore. Please specify which you prefer on the registration form.

Things To Bring:
Guests should bring along a camera, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. The boat does have a cooler and ice for any food or drinks you would like to bring.

Attire:
Light colored comfortable loose fitting clothing that breathes. Dress in layers to make it easy to adjust for changing temperature. Non-marking/Non-slip shoes are recommended.
