Operation Military Kids
This year, BSA is supporting our military families through a local charity in South Carolina called Operation Military Kids. This is part of the National Operation Military Kids initiative designated to provide support to the children and youth of families that are impacted by global contingency operations. This includes those served by Army installations, Air Force, Navy and Marine bases, National Guard and Reserves and those families, children and youth who are geographically dispersed.
Join BSA in lending support:

Hero Packs are a way for community groups to give military kids a big thank you for all they do and recognize these kids as heroes too. Hero packs will be stuffed with goodies by our spouses. They are given to military youth before a loved one is deployed along with a letter of thanks. The goal of HERO Packs are to provide fun items for children of deployed servicemen/women, and provide items to help those children communicate with that deployed parent. Please take part of this event and help your fellow BSA spouses/companions stuff the backpacks for these brave children. The $20.00 is a donation recommended to cover the costs of supplies for the backpacks.
- BSA will be skipping centerpieces at Monday night’s reception and donating that money to Operation Military Kids.
- BSA expects to raise $3,000 for this charity. To make the Bearing Industry contribution to Operation Military Kids more significant, the Convention Committee and Board of Directors are suggesting that each member company "match" BSA's contribution of $3,000. Any donation is welcome. The goal is for 100% of all companies, members and manufacturers to contribute.
Please make your check out to BSA: Operation Military Kids and send it to the BSA office as soon as possible but no later than Friday, April 19, 2013.
