Experienced convention attendees tell us that their spouse is a valuable asset in helping them build essential industry relationships. In many cases, the socializing among spouses at BSA networking and social events leads to additional personal contacts among convention attendees. BSA has planned a number of convention activities to include spouses/companions. All of the social and leisure events on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday include spouses and companions.
Convention Functions for Spouses and Companions
All leisure activities have a minimum participation requirement and are subject to cancellation. If a cancellation occurs, attendees will be notified via email ahead of time.
Beach Yoga for Spouses and Companions

Beach Yoga is a meditative art form based on static breathing positions. By positioning the body and concentrating on the wind and the timing of the waves to assist the breathing, yoga helps to heal the body and enhance health. Bare feet, all levels. Registration fee is $28.00. Yoga class includes towels and bottled water. The following items are recommended for all guests to bring: Footwear, Sunscreen, Clothing which allows flexible movement of the body, Light-weight jacket for warm-up and cool-down.

Barnabas Center is Nassau County’s only comprehensive service center to help neighbors in crisis so they can become healthy, productive citizens. They address critical issues facing the local community, such as hunger, affordable health care, and prevention of homelessness. Barnabas Center's mission and vision is to provide assistance to individuals and families in crisis throughout Nassau County. Their vision is to be the primary nonprofit resource in Nassau Country, providing assistance to connect individuals and families to services that will help them overcome crisis and achieve self-sufficiency. They help people get back on their feet, and that helps entire community. Please volunteer to help unload, setup and distribute the food with your fellow BSA friends at their food distribution and health fair event. Registration fee for transportation is $14.00 per person

Dress
The BSA Convention Committee has planned a casual convention. A resort casual policy with regard to daytime meeting dress includes the following:

Men - slacks, open neck, banded collar or polo shirts, sweaters, walking shorts, no ties/jackets.

Women - slacks, skirts, blouses, sweaters, walking shorts, open neck banded collar or polo shirts.
Temperatures in May are a high of 83ºF during the day, a Low of 67ºF in the evenings. Keep in mind that meeting rooms tend to be cooler than the outside temperature. A jacket or sweater may be necessary. For more information on dress for specific evening events, please refer to those events.

Ritz Kids
Ritz Kids introduces young guests to the natural wonders of the island through a variety of hands-on adventures. Designed for children ages 5 through 12, the supervised program entertains kids with educational games and activities featuring different themes throughout the week. Ritz Kids programs are offered seasonally. Activities, hours of operations, and pricing are subject to change. Please contact Ritz Kids for further details.
- Thursday – Learn why a coral reef is really a city under the sea. Join us as we have fun playing games like Race to the Reef.
- Friday – Activity revolves around reading Aesop fables and enjoying related games and exercises.
- Saturday – Celebrate nature as you explore the natural world around us through games, art, music and dance.
- Sunday – Enjoy an inspiring story about trees with a variety of games and activities to show why they are so special and important.
Children should bring bathing suits, shoes, sunscreen and extra dry clothes.
The Full Day Program takes place Thursday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, includes juice, snacks and lunch. The program fee is $75.00 for the first child, $70.00 for each additional child. The Half Day Program includes juice and snacks and is available Thursday through Sunday morning form 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and Thursday through Saturday each afternoon from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm The half day program fee is $55.00 for the first child and $50.00 for each additional child. An optional lunch may be included for an additional $15.00.
24-hour advance reservations are requested. Cancellations must be received within four hours of the program start time or full charges will be applied to the guest account.
Kids Night Out
Children, ages 5-12, get a break from Mom and Dad with supervised movies, games and watersports during Kids Night Out. The program fee is $75.00 per child (Complimentary for Club Level guests). Dinner is included. Available from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm every Friday and Saturday evening. Program hours may be extended to 11:00 pm for an additional $15.00 per hour, per child with advance notice. 24-hour reservations are required.
Kids Story Time
Children will delight in tales of fantasy and adventure during story-time in the Courtyard. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Offered Thursday through Sunday at 10:15 am
Fish Feeding
Come learn about our exotic fish, their dietary habits and join us in feeding them in their new aquatic tank. Offered daily at 9:30 am
Craft Class
Create a special souvenir to commemorate your island vacation in the Ritz Kids room. Children must be accompanied by an adult. A fee applies. Offered Thursday through Sunday at 3:00 pm.

Game Room
A fabulous game room for families – Our Space boasts a cool, modern look and the latest technology featuring flat screen televisions, the latest gaming systems, and timeless favorites like air hockey. Our Space also features a private movie theater and a large collection of DVDs. Our Space is open daily from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm.
