The 2015 Convention Planning Committee has planned several different activities and scheduled tours that will satisfy every member in your family.

Because these tours are always more fun with friends, we’re also providing this link to the BSA's Electronic Directory, so you can readily connect with other BSA friends as you make your plans.

Beach Yoga for Spouses and Companions

Beach Yoga is a meditative art form based on static breathing positions.  By positioning the body and concentrating on the wind and the timing of the waves to assist the breathing, yoga helps to heal the body and enhance health. Bare feet, all levels. Yoga class includes towels and bottled water. The following items are recommended for all guests to bring:  Footwear, Sunscreen, Clothing which allows flexible moment of the body, Light-weight jacket for warm-up and cool-down.

Spouses are invited to enjoy a morning of Bunco. Bunco is a social dice game involving 100% luck and no skill (there are no decisions to be made), scoring and a simple set of rules. Light snacks and a mimosa will be served. Suggested Donation for the charity Barnabas Center is $20.00.

Bring your swimming suit as the spa invites you to spend the day! Enjoy the serenity of this 27,500-square foot  sanctuary to include eucalyptus steam rooms, saunas, relaxation lounges with light refreshments and private outdoor saltwater pool. Lunch menu is available for service at the pool from Ocean Bar & Grill.

If you can not make it to the Spa Event on Sunday, please be aware that any BSA attendee who would like to use the spa, will receive a 10% discount off of any spa services or retail items. Please mention you are with BSA to receive the discount.

Please volunteer to put together emergency food bags with your fellow BSA friends. Barnabas Center is Nassau County’s only comprehensive service center to help neighbors in crisis so they can become healthy, productive citizens. They address critical issues facing the local community, such as hunger, affordable health care, and prevention of homelessness. Barnabas Center's mission and vision is to provide assistance to individuals and families in crisis throughout Nassau County. Their vision is to be the primary nonprofit resource in Nassau Country, providing assistance to connect individuals and families to services that will help them overcome crisis and achieve self-sufficiency. They help people get back on their feet, and that helps entire community.

Nestled within the maritime forest of the Amelia Island State Park at the southernmost end of the island.  A short trail ride from the ranch takes you directly out to ride miles of beach along the park's pristine Atlantic shore.  This is considered to be a "bucket list" item for many and is listed as one of the top things to do on the island.  You don't want to skip this one. Bring your sunglasses, cameras and sun block.

Your sailing adventure will take you from the docks of the historic downtown Fernandina located on the beautiful Amelia Island, sailing North to Cumberland Island. Sail Away in the waters of early natives, explorers, and wealthy industrialists where you should experience the sightings of dolphins, marine wildlife, and the beauty of the Florida marshes. Your destination, Cumberland Island, a National Park and Georgia’s largest barrier island. Where you will enjoy vistas of pristine maritime forests, undeveloped beaches, and wild horses. The Carnegie Home on Cumberland Island is a true treasure. The name of it is, Plum Orchard. We take a one hour tour of the estate. Then we head south back to Amelia Island. Everyone who sails on and around Cumberland Island tells us how beautiful and relaxing it is. There is so much to see along the beaches that everyone is sure to have an experience of a life time. Bring your sunglasses, sun block and bottled water and a cooler will be provided. Your camera is a must.

Note: All leisure activities have a minimum participation requirement and are subject to cancellation. If a cancellation occurs, a full refund will be provided for that activity. Full refunds cannot be guaranteed for cancellations received after April 6th and on-site registration will be on a space-available basis only.  A wait list is available for all tours when the maximum number of attendees has been reached.  After April 6, BSA is unable to accept exchanges between individuals registered for an event who no longer wish to attend and persons wanting to register onsite.
