Meet and Greet for Spouses and Companions

Please meet in the Verde Vista Terrace, Complimentary

Please join the 2020 Convention Committee Spouses for a meet and greet on the Verde Vista Terrace. Enjoy a coffee, tea or a breakfast pastry and meet old and new friends to kick off the 2020 Convention! Complimentary.

Living Desert Tour

Please plan to meet in the Hotel Conference Center at 12:45 p.m. for transportation. Buses will depart promptly at 1:00 p.m.

$95.00 per person includes transportation, private guided walking tour with time to explore on your own

A giraffe feeding opportunity, nature trails, animal shows, a state-of-the-art wildlife hospital, and much more are featured at The Living Desert, a unique zoo and botanical garden. Giraffes, mountain lions, zebras, and cheetahs are just a few of the species of incredible animals from Africa to North America on display . The botanical gardens include geographic replicas of areas as diverse as Baja California’s Desert and the exotic deserts of Madagascar. Experience the Living Desert with a memorable, docent-guided, Behind-the-Scenes walking tour. Stop by the interactive Discovery Center, visit one of the largest G-scale model train displays, enjoy a Wildlife Wonders animal presentation, hike the nature trails, and explore the state-of-the-art Wildlife Hospital.

Tram Tour

Please plan to meet in the in the Hotel Conference Center at 12:15 p.m. for transportation, Buses will depart promptly at 12:30 p.m.

$90.00/per person includes transportation, tram ride to and from the mountain, sightseing with narration, a 20 minute video on the construction of the tram and free time to eat, shop, hike trails or visit the observation terraces. Please dress in layers as it's 30-40 degrees colder at the top. Lunch is not included in the tour.

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway has the world's largest rotating tram car and travels over two-and-one-half miles along the cliffs of Chino Canyon. It transports visitors to the pristine wilderness of the Mt. San Jacinto State Park & Wilderness Area. During this ten-minute journey, tram cars rotate slowly, offering spectacular vistas of the valley below. At the Tram’s Mountain Station- elevation 8,516 feet and 30 degrees cooler that the desert floor- guest will enjoy 180 degrees of spectacular views of the valley, hike miles of trails, watch two documentary films or visit the natural history museum. This trek to the top of the famous mountain is truly a singular experience!

Epicurean Food Tour

Please plan to meet at the Hotel Conference Center at 11:45 a.m. for transportation, buses will depart promptly at 12:00 p.m.

$190.00 per person includes a 3 hour food tour at 5 different locations with food and drink tastings

This unique activity is a 3 hour, 1.5-2 mile guided culinary tour where guests will have the opportunity to "taste" their way along Palm Desert's upscale shopping and art district, El Paseo. The tour includes tastings at five restaurants/specialty shops and is considered enough food for lunch, grazing style. Between each tasting, guests will learn about the art, history and cul-ture of the area and some unique facts about each of the restaurants.

Note: All leisure activities have a minimum participation requirement and are subject to cancellation. If a cancellation occurs, a full refund will be provided for that activity. Full refunds cannot be guaranteed for cancellations received after April 4th and on-site registration will be on a space-available basis only. A wait list is available for all tours when the maximum number of attendees has been reached. After April 4th, BSA is unable to accept exchanges between individuals registered for an event who no longer wish to attend and persons wanting to register onsite.
